She's a bad egg...
Sometimes I'm surprised that my family and I still have friends. In particular, friends with whom we socialize face to face. Every time -and I mean every time- Anna and I hang out with another family with kids, things go rather well until "goodbye time". As soon as I broach the subject of leaving, Anna freaks out and throws an apoplectic fit! Weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth! Inhumanly high screams pierce the air, limbs thrash and flail in unnatural directions...I suddenly feel like I'm trying to put Dora shoes on a demonic squid from the 7th circle of Hell. Of course, out of good taste and compassion for my daughter I won't even mention the time she screamed so high and so loud in a Fred Myer store that I actually heard something inside my ear crack. I'm currently in possession of, count them, five books with specific reference to childrens tantrums and how to work with the little devils that throw them. I'm fairly certain my next bout of patronage to the local library will inlcude my borrowing texts on anger management --for me. Advice and chocolate is welcome.

Ohhh Amelia I will defend you to the end. You are a wonderful mother and we sure love Anna. Like I said the other day, your just raising your little Opera singer.
The next time she throws a tantrum at home wip out the camera and when she's a teenager "throwing a tantrum" you can show her what she looked like when she was a kid and doing it:)So instead of her driving you crazy because she's throwing a tantrum you can laugh, maybe? Just a thought I had suddenly. I just can't picture Anna being a tantrum thrower, but I guess it has been almost 2 years since we saw you guys:(
As for being out in public and handling tantrums I am still at a loss after almost 4 years of parenting!:) But I agree with the other comment maker; you are a wonderful mother!
